the summer is almost here.
i'm gonna create a little list of a few things i'm planning on doing:
- summer school. what a blast.
- finding a job i enjoy that will make me some cash moneyyy
- taking a trip to the galleria + rice village b/c i want to shop at Lot 8 & meet Chloe Dao
- groowwinngg outt the hair. whatever you people do, do NOT let me cut it.
- tan. tan. i'm half hispanic, i should show it.

well it's a Sunday, and fortunately I have time to really write in this livejournal of mine. that is quite exciting :o)
Finals week is soon approaching at the Texas Tech Campus and initially I was meant to take five. Well, this stressed me out especially considering my roommate has to only endure two finals. i was very depressed about this and frustrated. BUT. after some prayer, God gave me some great news. My art appreciation teacher suddenly told us last thursday that she was dropping the lowest test grade, so if we were happy with our grade we didn't need to take the final because it would be dropped. yay for me and having a high A in there :o) plus since im a good little girl who attends all her classes I basically don't have to go anymore because i have less than three absences :o)-- so now it's 4 finals. ha. basically i have to study for all of them. I have high A's in spanish and math, but a borderline A in mass comm and a B in history because that class sucks balls. in order to get an A in history i have to make a mid A or higher. blehhh.
here's my end of semester synopsis:
History: basically, history up to 1877 is NOT fun. we are ending on the civil war. it's hard enough for me to enjoy certain aspects of history... not to mention this class was at 8 am monday, wed, and friday. boo. but my teacher was cool, and i learned some new stuff. whatevs.
Intro to Mass Comm: ha.ha. intro eh? well, so much for thinking this would be an easy A. everyday we scramble to write down notes because Dr. Dean goes at 90 mph with the power pt, and then we have 90 question tests that are 80% T/F. hows that for fun? except, the class is interesting because it has to do with my major. i just wish it was an easy intro class like Human Sciences or something where they have no homework, tests, and do stupid shtuff.
College Algebra: I'm not a math person. that's why I'm in a major which only requires 6 hours of it :o). my teacher, slightly boring yet taught well. I usually get the highest grades on the tests (minus last times.. heh) and my average is a solid high A. so it's nice but the final is over the whole semester which is just jibberish.
Spanish: I love my teacher. she's a grad student, and is very fun and delightful. she also dresses cute, and I sometimes am jealous of her shoes. She thinks I'm one of the more advanced students of the class and forces me to pronounce my last name correctly. ha. I've been inspired to study abroad in Spain, and I'm doing it the summer after my sophomore year! weeee. yay for spanish.
Art Appreciation: I have no feelings toward my teacher. I do however think it's cool that she seemed pretty lax with the course, and I learned a bit about artists and artwork. it was cool. Andy goldsworthy ( I think is his last name) is amazing ps.
I'm applying to be a CA for next fall. a CA is the same thing as an RA, they just have a different name for them here. anyways, you get free room and board, free meal plan, and also a paycheck. the reason for me wanting to apply is because i'm not sure if i'll have a car next year, and I want some cash. I'm filling out the app today because I don't want to do it over Christmas break because I'm going to have to do so many other things that I won't discuss because I like to keep some stuff private :o)
Ohhh!! I might go to the ROSE BOWL YAYUH. how amazingly fun?! UT football, and some of my lovers!
I am so very excited about the Holidays coming. We had a gift exchange between kim, dana, ash and me! well, i got some cool stuff. like EARMUFFS. hahah yessssss, amazing necklaces!!! and this awesome purse! Oh how i love the Christmas time! Carol of Lights was friday where they sing some songs, and do this little procession and then turn all the lights they've hung up on the buildings around memorial circle. it's gorgeous, i loved it! We have secret santa's coming up with the first floor girls and that should be fun.
things are starting to get better in the LBK, and I am very thankful for that. I'm still confused about what exactly I want/where I want to be, but I know God will help me figure it out. I'm working hard on improving other issues, and its fantabulous.

SO BASICALLY i love my life.
i have a huge thing of laundry to do but im waiting to bring it down for thanksgiving! oh yeah... and i feel like my turkey break itenerary (dangit.. sp?) is really full. i just want to be able to see EVERYONE and that's hard in a matter of like 3 days. but im still sooo excited!
this weekend was AWESOME. austin is my favorite city in texas. i bought this awesome little dress at buffalo exchange, and i really wanted the r.l. polo but it was too short. ugh long torso :/ ANYWAYS casual was amazing! and i saw all the nice spikes and their dates and met some new people that are awesome. i ate at two of ryans favorite places in austin and the spirits crush was fun too. the house was kinda crowded and i didn't even drink there bc there were too many super drunk people and i was like meh i'll have fun without the alcohol!! so we def kicked it on the dance floor and what not. i'll give the highlights of the weekend:

ben folds was this weekend in htown, dallas and austin. david and lew called me and let me hear him! :) i love them.

this weekend i have felt so lazy. but i LOVE IT. haha
yesterday D and I went to target. i bought some boots for the cold weather, and some really awesome makeup for this weekend. new makeup excites me especially LIP GLOSS. haha and then we found some awesome loafers for only like 10 bucks. d's are light pink and mine are off white. they are so comfortable. basically house shoes that i'll wear 24/7. ha
then we went to varsity and bought art supplies. i worked on my collage for art appreciation and it turned out kinda cool and d worked on all her art/architecty nonsense. lol
this weekend phone calls have made my day. last night mIchelle newt called me and we talked forever and it got me sooo pumped for seeing her this weekend. then today i talked to ryan a lot and that always makes me happy. PLUS katie phelan is in austin visiting ger so i got to talk to both of them. i taked to charlie for a bit and told him he better go to casual so we can all see each other! wOo

this is the story about three girls. who call themselves team TAM.
when tracing the origin of the name i guess we could start at cesar leynier brown's apartamento. we'll call it the crazy place because wierd odd crazy things happen there. you know like people's hands being placed on other people's body parts, random dips in the pool, cheating in poker games, and too much chuggage of wine in a bag perhaps. ANYWAYS so one poker game terra michelle and alyssa were on a team. they decided to call themselves team TAM.
who loves team TAM? many people do. especially that ryan grosskreuz. as much as he'd like to change the name to team RAM or team RA or team RTM it will always be team TAM. oh and ps art navarro if you are reading this you will never be in the team TAM. sorry you are eliminated.
one sad day the team split up. now team tam lived in atx, lbk, and htown and it is quite the tragedy. however, that doesn't stop team tam. the team lives on with its constant phone calls to bitch about the people we hate, lovely online chat rooms (which michelle you are improving!!) and of course those drunken phone calls about LOVING EACH OTHER!!

oh the emotion roller coaster ride. blech.
this weekend we played aTm. and beat those stupid aggies!! :o)
friday night matt, bua, and alana came in. i visited with them and then i had to leave with ash to go camp out at the stadium. yahaha that was hilarious. muscle aches, maybe 1 hour of sleep not sure, and quick bathroom FINA runs! i think the best part was going crazy with sarah espinoza and sarah hansen. haha those girls are hilarious i must say!
saturday early morning woke up, and stood our ground. then ash and i left bc we were just so darn hungry and needed to change. so we did, and then went back out there. basically the day was the longest one of my LIFE. dana and josh came out and we all sat/stood up for hours on end. the coolest thing is the fact that the sun burned the left side of my face and not the right. haha yay for half sunburns! ok so then finally the gates opened and i thought i was going to get trampled entering the stadium...
WE GOT FRONT ROW SEATS!! YAYYY. and the camera was on us about a MILLION times. it was so great. josh won fan of the game in his spideyman costume. we got to touch all the players hands and im pretty sure TAUREAN HENDERSON TOUCHED MY HAND OMGOSH A;LDKFA;JDFLK;ADSFLADF;LAKDF;ALKDF MY LIFE IS COMPLETE YESSSS DO ME NOW. he's is my ultimate favorite player. it sucks he's a senior though, so i guess i'll never have another favorite :/ lol nah but he's just such a badass on our team and i love him and i love my left hand even more now. i touched other players too like our qb and what not but they aren't important.
the ONE thing i will say about aTm is that their bands beginning of the half time show thing is SO COOL. they walk out and then start rotating their instruments and the bass drums go really low and the tubas do awesome stuff. i loved it. but other than that aggies can suck it. haha
then we went to iHOP with matt, bua, alana, henry, and all their friends they knew. afterwards we were going to this guys house but i had to be dropped off bc i thought megan was going to come bye. i was really bummed that i couldn't hang out with the boys more and megan never even came by bc of other stuff. so all in all that put me in a perty gross mood. not to mention all the outside exposure has got me sick. plus i screamed and now my throat is HORRIBLY sore. oh my goodness it hurts so bad when i just swallow im like wtfreak?
then i went to lawrences dorm and watched cast away. haha it was up to that or seven. now i totally would've gone with seven but i wasn't in the mood to be all gruesome and scary. i still need to see that movie though. i kept trying to guess the point of the movie it was hilarious. and then i came back to my dorm and crashed.
my week is going to be psycho. test monday, tuesday, wednesday, and a paper due thursday. ayyy chi flaca. but there are some SUPER EXCITING things coming up:
* TWO WEEKENDS FROM NOW ILL BE IN AUSTIN!!!! ryan has his iron spikes casual and that is going to be badass!! plus ger's bday is that monday so we'll probably do something like go to a movie or something for it :o) yayyyyyy sooo much
* THANKSGIVING IS IN 3 WEEKS! i basically get to see everyone i love who lives super far away from me. and eat del pueblo. ohh yahhh babyyy

i don't like to be a babysitter.
i understand i get a little loose sometimes, but when im the only sober one it's just like gahhh. well ok its not necessarily being the only sober one, it's being the only sober one surrounded by crazy people that i've never met.
i love meeting new people. it's just sometimes im not in the mood for stuff.
then i get the phone calls. those are fun. when he's out having the time of his life and all i wish is that i was there with him instead of the random ass house im at in that moment. it's cool letting him have his fun, and me having mine. but sometimes i want it to be our fun. i feel like i have to compete in this crazy social race and it seems like i never win. ugh.
then there's the future. uncertainty is the dominant theme it seems. i want some plan for my life but i don't want a black and white layout. just a sketch perhaps. i just want to be happy, and experience the wide variety of culture the world contains. i want to meet people who influence the world in positive as well as negative ways, and learn their secrets. i want to pry into their minds, ask them questions to understand them and show all of this to the world.
james and i talked tonight. it was so fabulous talking to him. he's SO REAL its unbelieveable. i spelled that incorrectly i think. meh. anyways, we are going out to dinner when i come back home because we deserve a reunion. i love how i can just say stuff to him without him worrying. i used to be afraid to be close with him, because he intimidated me in some strange way. but now i realize that having him in my life is one of the best things that could've ever happened.
p.s. i'm going to savor this moment in time. my history grade is a 90. so that means i now have a 4.0 gpa. :)

team TAM rocked my socks this week. i miss terra and michelle sooo much its unbelievable. i cannot wait till thanksgiving until all THREE of us get to be in the same place at the same time.
speaking of thanksgiving, im really going to attempt at seeing all of my friends. ever since we all seperated for college i've missed a lot more of them than i thought i would. it just makes me feel horrible for this summer when i brushed a lot of people off. so yah not going to do that this time.

OK SO.
this weekend was pretty fun. on FRIDAY we hit up the saddle tramps partay where kimmy got hit on 800 times by 5 guys at once. hahaha but you know she said she was married!! lol i love my roommate. also ash got beat up by a drunken guy... jk he kinda fell on her but she was still hurt! haha and of course all the trinas took goofy pictures! then after that katie me and mel went to Margaritaville by Kappa Sig. it was fun! the margaritas were like reallllyyy good and the guy giving them out had a parrot on his shoulder! lol the setup was cool... very beachy. except katie and i somehow always get spotted out by the po po's at these things... it's quite stupid. lol we danced to lots of fun songs and then left. then SATURDAY was a lazy day... then we got ready for the game but we only wanted to stay for the 1st quarter bc it was indiana state and im pretty sure they suck ace. so yeah, then a few of us from our floor went out to HOOTERS! that was fun! then i sorta went out but it ended up being gay and i was just watching people drink beer and it was stupid. so i had kim pick me up bc of course im cool with no car... then we all had fun changing ryan's whole facebook profile. ha. i also got a lot of drunk phone calls from all my austin loves!! oh how i miss them...
i AM going to austin now! katie gib and i are drivin down there and im soo excited to see everyone! ryan said he'd try and get us tickets in the draw, which would be AWESOME but we'd have to wear something texas and not texas tech. lol whatever.

i wish i could've seen coldplay at ACL i heard they were sooo goood. :( sadness. but oh well.
i need more clothes from urban... sadness. and im contemplating what to do with my hair. our "project" for our floor is having people come in and do haircuts and eyebrow waxes! haha what an awesome project 1st floor kicks ace.
i wonder when it's going to get cold? aka FREEEEEZZZIINNNG here?

so kim and i were going to surprise everyone by coming home homecoming weekend.
rita happened, hc game and hc cancelled along with all flights to houston. so that was a negative and bummer.
alyssa checks her schedule and realizes the ONLY other game she can make in houston is this coming up weekend the 30th-2nd. sooo against her parents wishes bc of possible electricity shortage and what not she decides to change her flight from this weekend to the 30th.
i go to the airport and realize the flights that weekend are already booked. meaning i can't go. Kim changed her flight to go down the 6th to catch the thursday night football game and stay till the 9th. she suggested i go then too but hey guess what. i have friday classes. 3 actually, and i can't skip them all. so yah thats just dandy. and now i can't come down for ONE SINGLE creek game. i can't see any of the silvies in uniform or anything. thats a big deal to do that for any graduated silvie. not to mention i was the lt. colonel so it's like a bigger deal for the officers.
but hey its cool.
so the next time.. ok actually the FIRST time since i got here.... ill be going to htown is THANKSGIVING. ::sigh::
i mean, my dad will come to the LBK sometimes for business. yeah i miss my family. but i miss savanna. like a LOT. i know this is wrong to say but it's almost as if i miss her and terra more than my parents. and i miss abby a LOT too.
oh yeah and the icing on the cake is. since i couldnt see michelle terra and ryan this weekend i was planning on seeing at least michnewt and terra this next weekend. well no. and i want to go to the UT v TECH game really bad. i told my mom and she acted as if she'd pay for my ticket. as im talking to her today i come to realize that " if you wan't to go that money is coming from your own nickel and dime" hmmm. awesome. so yah you know only a 75 dollar ticket. and a girl with no job and stuff isn't just loaded with craploads of cash. but if i dont go i wont see any of them until thanksgiving. meaning i wont see ryan until then.
i mean i haven't even gotten homesick. its just the fact that all my plans are falling through and major people i want to see im not able to anymore.
sorry to let anyone down.... see ya in november.

yesturday. this thing got back into my hands. AND I LOVE IT.

things are kinda wierd too. like all these people are acting different toward me. not in a negative sense, just more of a surprising sense. wierd.
i keep having dreams and then i forget them. haha dangit.
i had a nap phase when school first started but its gone now. haha im glad too because i never believed in naps i suppose.
boys. are so wierd. some friends are coming back to me slowly, some haters are finally talking to me, some are telling me to call them when i come in town, and some are questionable in what the heck they are doing.
and then theres ryan. ohhh the ryan g. i guess by mentioning him i should make this entry "friends only" but im too lazy to do that. im glad we are where we are. as much as i hate sometimes when i get a call from him and he's at some fun party in atown im glad im here in the LBK. we don't have a label anymore, yet i still have a lot of feelings for him. i think its just one of those things where people ask me about it and i always reply with "haha umm who knows". and to me thats fine because i don't have to know right now...
this week im gonna attend a lot of meetings and hopefully become part of a service organization or this one christian sorority thing. im anti the greek sorority crap, but this christian one seems cool :)
i love secrets as well ;).
i also miss my gerrie phelan, its so unusual/amazing how much closer we've become after we went off to college. but i LOVE it because i love her!

austin was so fun! i really like it there. it's wierd to see their campus because I think of college like tech. gerrie and i indulged in the drags fabulous clothes. it made me really upset to know we don't have that here in lubbock. except last night i heard of a store called Savor's thats like all thrift stuff so i MUST check it out.
class is going alright. spanish made me a little mad but eh oh well. i need to find a van gogh painting pronto for art appreciation...
OH AND dell called. friggin it's gonna take even MORE time to fix my computer. so im guessing i'll get it by monday. i HOPE. i really need it back. i can't keep borrowing kim's lol
lewis told me something HILARIOUS yesturday about a picture in his room. haha oh the irony of life.
tonight is Cru. the bible study last night was cool although it was just an intro thing. but i love the girl leaders especially LAURA! she's adorable. then after Cru we are going to Wild West. i'm sooo excited. except 8 am class tomorrorow probably won't be too fun. but meh oh well.
FIRST FOOTBALL GAME ON SATURDAY. oh yeah we better dominate this biatch.
